@penpencilbrush And our local library provides free streaming services via Kanopy & Hoopla 😊
@penpencilbrush Thank you for the reminder
@penpencilbrush I wanted to read a book more quickly than an audiobook, my usual format, so I finally got set up with just one of the apps we have available. It was great!
@penpencilbrush And in most cases, the library pays a flat fee, so more users don't cost more money.
@penpencilbrush Long live public libraries!!
Mine has access to sound/video recording studios, all sorts of creative softwares, Linda (online courses), Mango language learning, Kanopy, and a gazillions of events, talks, workshops, concerts, film screenings. And all this for free of course. They even got rid of late fees a few years ago. A real community hub serving the people.
If you don't already, use your public library! They're awesome and they need to be used to stay relevant.
@penpencilbrush @vmbrasseur this is why I am happy to pay taxes.
@penpencilbrush @vmbrasseur oh, and healthcare, education, potable water, helping those who have fallen in hard times, but not a militarized police force.
