Another random update. On st. Patty's I went out and took some pictures of bar crowds and had so much fun. I used builtin flash which I now at least have a strategy for using. Some success in terms of pictures tuning out which is nice. Since it's builtin the pictures are all a bit glare-y and shiny (light facing directly of course). But what I really found today experimenting a bit on my break with snapseed is I think for me this needs to be black and white. Here is one
I will commit with this bnw by getting a red filter. At least applying this in post the red filter has the best effect for skin tones which is what I care about in terms of contrast-- it is really nice. If I get very ambitious it would be neat to try it with a handheld flash that I could hold a bit to the side, also I once saw a tip from a pro that even in the flash is just a bit higher it can make a nice shadow under the chin that looks good. Anyways it is very fun.
