Trump thought he could control the war in Iran. Three weeks in, it’s clear he can’t. Allies have their own agendas, the objectives are unclear, and the political pressure is mounting. History tells us what happens when leaders walk into traps they cannot escape. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/trump-escalation-trap-lbj-vietnam
Trump's Iran Escalation Trap Recalls LBJ And Vietnam

Donald Trump, Lyndon Johnson, and wars we can’t win

The Big Picture

@georgetakei

Putin thought his Ukraine war would be a month long.

Netanyahu had similar thoughts about Gaza.

Now Trump is finding out he can't foment a revolution in Iran with airstrikes and he doesn't have enough money to prosecute past a month himself.

Not only can he not escape this trap, he may actually lose this war. And, of course, we'll be seeing reprisals for decades.

@Professor_Stevens @georgetakei But on the plus side, we're NOT talking about epstein.
