Bluesky has a lot of political and journalist folks I like, but is hostile to non-party streams of thought. Mastodon has a lot of tech folks I like plus features I like that Bluesky doesn't have. I've used brid.gy to link my Mastodon account, but I'm having difficulty finding Bluesky folks who have bridged their accounts.

Agreed โ€” of the hundreds of people I followed on Bluesky before moving back to Mastodon, only one account had already enabled the bridge when I searched. I've also found that sending Bridgy invites (by DMing Bluesky handles to Bridgy Fed) has been a total waste of time so far.

That said, most of my interactions with bridged Bluesky users happen when their posts randomly hit my timeline through saved hashtags.

@RichardWrightFan @mychalshade yeah I haven't had any luck with DMs to the bridge either, they should try to revamp that feature for better conversion somehow... What has sometimes worked has been to individually and not in a spammy way ask people on Bluesky to enable it.

That's a good idea, but how are you doing it? Do you still maintain an account on Bluesky (I deleted mine) or are you @ mentioning them by full username from Mastodon? If so, that's brilliant and I had never thought of that before.
@RichardWrightFan @mychalshade unfortunately I don't think you can mention an unbridged user from Mastodon (at least as far as I know) so you need to have an account there to interact with them.

Got it, thanksโœŒ๐Ÿฟ
