Q2: Were you a maker as a child? If so, what? #MakersHour

@MakersHour #MakersHour A2: I took up crocheting briefly as a kid, and wrote and illustrated some stories for the Young Authors contest

In sixth grade, someone gave me a friendship bracelet kit for my birthday, and that was my special interest until I picked up crochet again in high school (and knitting at uni). I even sold bracelets at a couple of neighborhood garage sale days.

@WizardOfDocs @MakersHour Omg I forgot about those friendship bracelets. They were so cool!
@thegiddystitcher @MakersHour I hear about young women making friendship bracelets these days, and it's always beads on a string. The nice ones made of knots feel like a lost art.
Though I did just pick up some lovely embroidery floss destash from a friend...
@WizardOfDocs @MakersHour Funny you mention it, some Vinted seller sent me a SACK of floss along with the cross stitch fabric I bought from her...

@thegiddystitcher @WizardOfDocs @MakersHour

I used to make a lot of this type of thing and I still have an entire bag filled with different colours of embroidery floss for making them.
