It's impossible for a decent person to become a billionaire. Anyone who isn't a total sociopath would just stop and do something worthwhile instead a long time before they accumulated that kind of wealth.

Surely they haven't need of a whole billion for themselves?

Afaik Dolly Parton has never been a billionaire, but that is because she keeps giving away her money via the Dollywood Foundation.
She is still filthy rich, but has also improved the lives for countless families in Tennessee.

  • I mean, it's not entirely impossible if they were like starting a housing cooperative and kept reinvesting in it, but generally speaking, most decent beings would like use that money and wealth to make the world a better place and empower others...
