Nothing ever gets *better*, does it. It's just same or shades of worse. When I am supreme ruler, the headlines shall read thusly.....

OIL PRICES TODAY HAVE GONE WAY DOWN BECAUSE NO ONE USES IT ANY MORE

REVERSE WARS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE SHOP - COUNTRIES IN A ESCALATING SERIES OF ACTS OF KINDNESS TRYING TO OUT-DO ONE ANOTHER - DROPPING OFF SECRET GIFTS AND SAYING NICE THINGS

POLITICS TOTALLY DEFUNDED AND THE MONEY REDISTRIBUTED TO HEALTH AND EDUCATION, MAKING AN ACTUAL DIFFERENCE

I wonder what all those politicians would do, if not trapped in a spiral of inevitable greed and self interest. Taking kickbacks from lobbyists and claiming wild things on expenses. Perhaps they could all work in television? Firewalled from the public. Just have a massive rolling game of Traitors. Watch them all lie and cheat and stab each other in the back whilst doing amusing tasks. Ed Davey already has a headstart.

Firewalling politicians! Reminds me of Pink Floyd's Fletcher Memorial Home (for Incurable Tyrants and Kings)

"Did they expect us to treat them with any respect?"

@surdfish

Roger Waters' lyrics are dripping with such bitterness and cynicism that they're worth reading in full, for anyone who doesn't already know the song

The whole album. Such a hearteater...and still poignant.

@surdfish @TheBreadmonkey

Yeah. It's not my favourite Pink Floyd album, but it still packs a punch — especially the title track.

For anyone who doesn't know the album and wants to try it, we should cw it for mh-- and suicide.
