1/2 This 04 Reserva (mostly Touriga Nacional/Touriga Franca) is big, listed 15%, but it's held surprisingly well for a well-priced red aged 20+ years (low-$20s today). Fruity on the edges, it's not jammy. If age has done anything, it's mostly on structure--not much backbone or vibrancy. to reply

If a bit flat rather than vibrant, it's a long way from decayed. Call it a win for the price, the age and the handling of its alcohol well (you'll notice mostly when it becomes a bit tiring). It's a tasty pizza wine, exceeding expectations. #wine #douro
