I used to enjoy riding over the Arrowhead Bridge, a drawbridge upriver, and listening to the wooden planks rattling under the tires. They don't grow trees that big any more, I don't think.

If you want a real throwback, take a drive over the Oliver Bridge, further up the St. Louis River, still in use as a combination rail and road bridge.

New deck, though. No more rattling across wooden planks there, either.
