@iamlayer8 There was a five year stretch where I needed to be kept from matches lest I blow everything up.
But, seriously, Americans have been promised that making everything worse will make it better since at least 2000 (Ralph Nader shrugging about Gore losing to Bush). Things have gotten much worse; where's the better?

Individual people may learn from bad experiences. The greater the group gets the less they are able to learn in general and they seem to draw even worse conclusions from bad ones.
Learning as a very large group looks suspiciously like looking for the easy way out.

@iamlayer8 I think many of us start getting the point when we can all be easily kidnapped out of our homes, but at that point incredible damage has been done.
