Agree. But I believe I will need some kind of Windows machine for many years to come, to run apps that I need and just don't exist on Linux.

I tried to use Wine on Ubuntu for Adobe ebook management as advertised at my local library. Alas without much luck. Now I forgot the ancient Adobe Windows crap and use Calibre. What a treat!
@alterelefant @Zatarra @hmblank Yes, but most can't stand in the shadows.
Like Total Commander, I'm running in Wine.
Synology Surveillance Station I didn't get working in Wine on Ubuntu. Haven't tried yet in Wine on Mint.
Guess I need network access in Wine sorted, haven't yet managed on Ubuntu, will check on Mint.
I guess I can say it was the introduction of Snap which got me annoyed and now finally looking again.
@AngelaScholder @alterelefant @hmblank
Can't say I'm a fan of snaps. But they work. The time I spent in my life and the bloodpressure I suffered getting windows-update to behave can only be remedied with lifelong meditation and medication.
@Zatarra @alterelefant @hmblank Well, I have the idea that Snaps did reduce my system's performance. This next to a lot of annoyance.
Windooze updates (in 10 and later 7) did work, but each time it was checking the system to see if no crap was added.
Same in Android now.
