sometimes people try to write stories about human mimics that are obviously fucked up looking to set off your creepiness response. but i think if a human mimic was meant to fool humans (as opposed to scaring other creatures) then it would prioritize sight beyond all senses to fool
the most common "actually pretty scary" human mimic idea is of course monster that speaks and lures you into position... but i enjoy like, trying to imagine how another type of creature could maximize looking human from its danger angle while still being something else and perhaps being detectable through a dump stat sense humans are worse with. smell is the classic of course
