#cdrama Pursuit of Jade (Netflix/iQiYi) is fast becoming one of my fave historical series.

Only 26 of 40 episodes in, but as gripping as Winter Begonia, Joy of Life, Longest Day in Chang’an & The Wind Blows From Longxi.

Loving the leaning in to realism, such as the ‘side stories’ of army life - trying to sleep while the ‘heroes’ loudly yack about exploits in the next tent, the obsession with salt to make the food taste better, the testing of wild herbs to see if they can heal wounds…

@AnnaAnthro i haven't watched any of these which should i watch

Questions to help me narrow it down:
what streaming options have you got?
What kinds do you usually lean towards - mystery, politics, romance?
Which series have u seen recently that u really liked?

@AnnaAnthro iqiyi. Viki, and prime.

Modern dramas we've liked: reset, moonlight, we are all alone, she and her perfect husband

Historicals: how dare you, les belles

I liked how prisoner of beauty had a good amount of governance stuff. How dare you donghua does a better job. I just didnt like the two main characters much.

I lean more stupid comedies. Like I've been watching op xianxia with mind reading shorts.

@grumpasaurus @AnnaAnthro of Anna's original list that might fall under "stupid comedy" would be Joy Of Life. Season 1 & 2, and I think I read season 3 comes out this year.
