An employee quit after learning his architecture firm was helping design an ICE detention center.

β€œI think what ICE is doing is the worst thing America has done since the Japanese internment camps during WWII.”

His coworkers revolted. The firm quickly reversed course. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2026/03/ice-dlr-group-detention-corecivic-contract-worker-resistance-trump/ #press

Top architecture firm won’t design more ICE prisons after employees revolt

They thought their firm focused on humane design. Then they learned of the private detention center contract.

@cbarbermd Nice to read that there are stil ethical and empathetic people moving things/opinions into real happenings. 😁 These are not prisons, but far worse, they are concentration camps. I posted an article on this an hour ago. Frightening! 😱

Am also inspired to see that atleast there are people who don't stay silent when such unlawful actions take place. How can we fill our societies with such people?
@nuwagaba2 I grew up in the Apartheid times of South Africa and was sickened by the attitude of the brainwashed population. Left in 1981 at the first opportunity open after my university. There is sadly a huge amount of people who do not think beyond their nose.
@connynasch
Can such people be changed or they'll live like that forever?
@nuwagaba2 check out musk for a not really... My school friends have changed though, so there is hope. I am watching history unfold at the moment watching this video:

@connynasch
That's great if your school friends have changed, it means more people can change. Can I share with you about my project?

@cbarbermd

Give that man a job.

This is the type of person that helps your company grow.

@paulschoe @cbarbermd

I agree. When you fight back you win against these fools. And windfalls sometimes accompany the success. I bet they find a good job
