Aaron GilesMeh, car's check engine light came on, dealer says it needs a full engine replacement. Been thinking of a used EV for a while, now seems like it might be the moment. It's a 2nd car mostly used for commuting around the area, low mileage stuff. My 6'2" son needs to fit as a passenger. Hit me with recommendations! (non-Tesla)
DaveMinor@aaronsgiles Hyundai Ioniq electric (precursor to the ioniq 5) Bought one a year ago still under original warranty — the *only* caveat is it’s front wheel drive, and low rolling resistance tires so it was sidelined during the last several weeks of northeast winter. All season tires would probably do the trick but would reduce efficiency somewhat. Range is around 180 miles in warm weather if u drive reasonably and I just plug it in overnight to a regular wall socket as needed.
