It’s that time of the year again: Slopcon 2026 in downtown San José, California! At least, that’s what it’s become.

Fortunately NVidia isn’t solely focused on LLM & generative-NN bullshit, and are actually doing great work in the datacenter CPU space!

Sure it’s couched as “great for AI agents” blah blah blah, because that’s the only thing business idiot slopmongers can hear right now, but good CPUs and GPUs are good for plenty more than that!

@eschaton Sounds like soupçon. So I guess I’ll nominate “slopçon” as the unit of measure for small quantities of (possibly unnecessary, maybe more efficiently/reliably done through other means, probably poorly supervised) GenAI work product.
