I would like to request a FREEDOS phone. Wouldn't need much horsepower or battery or RAM. A tuned i486 would be killer. 512MB RAM. ASCII GUI. OLED.

@arrjay Yeah basically a modern one of those!
@Lydie An @m17_project with a SIM800 would be enough for me.
@f4grx @Lydie "M17 Project" does not point to any specific hardware :-)
@m17_project @f4grx Looks like it's a Pi related thing, but yes, there are multiple things that come up when I Google it
@m17_project @Lydie come on, you know what I meant :)
@f4grx @m17_project 😆 This early AM autie brain didn't until your last comment 😵

@Lydie @m17_project sorry, I didnt remember the name of their handheld project!

The LinHT apparently.

@Lydie

I've got a nice old 386 here—a 25 MHz 3.5“ floppy drive and a 170 MB hard drive. I love it when the 3.5” drive boots up.

@pinkmoon can I have it?

@Lydie

Hmmmm, this is my only mini PC that I can use to program old Motorola GP-CP 300 radios. It runs DOS 6.22. There’s the BIOS memory with an internal 3V battery; if it’s dead, there’s a trick for connecting an external battery. I also still use it for my ART EPP2 EPROM programmer. I still have so many old 27Cxx, 27Cxxx, and 27Cxxxx EPROMs.

@Lydie I'm thinking about donating all my belongings to charity. I don't feel welcome where I live, and I haven't felt safe there for a long time.
