Daring Fireball
@daringfireball That $44.2MM for health care benefits is Yahoo Finance exhibiting total innumeracy. Not only is it ridiculous on its face, but it then makes the numbers not add up to $886. Turns out it was $44.2 THOUSAND, which then leads to the question of why anyone mentioned it in the first place, given that it is less than the rounding error on all the other numbers
@daringfireball Ehh, never mind - just saw your updated post
@daringfireball Ladies and gentlemen, the next President of the United States!
@daringfireball Your take on Zaslav, based on a tweet, has a major flaw. Zaslav didn't "kill" Warner Bros. The company was mostly doomed by mismanagement during the AT&T years, resulting in huge losses. That's why AT&T eventually unloaded it on Discovery, with the merger that constituted the huge debt. Zaslav wasn't interested in restoring WB to its former glory. He is basically a scrap merchant, who was there to stop the bleeding, until the assets would look good enough for another buyer.

@daringfireball While I’m not prepared to argue Zaslav is anything more than a money whore, he did get TWO different other groups of money whores to offer pretty much the same amount of money (I mean, what’s a few billion here or there?)

And WB got fucked by 1) themselves, then 2) AOL, then 3) AT&T, then 4) by Zaslav.
