centralised Android attestation is still centralised, no matter how much time is spent on framing the "it's open source hence it's better by default!" argument. especially when the only difference from Play Integrity is figureheads in charge.

ironically, EU is likely to take the idea to their liking and push it as a way to divest from US. which is also conveniently a way to consolidate more control.

same goes for the "it's European! divested from USA/Google! so that's good by default!" argument - nominally yes, it's slightly better, pesky Americans won't be able to regulate this.

but that only shifts the center of power to EU. and EU, for all we love the institution for, has its own idiots among tech regulators & lawmakers who propose dumb shit (just from recent examples: ChatControl, social media age verification hysteria both nationally and across EU).
