if there's anything this place taught me is that no one cares unless you're a celeb on here

call me what you want but i operate on what i have as evidence

and i think telling people "you're not alone" is a lie - else they wouldn't be left on their own with no one checking up on them or being able to vent without being considered annoying or a burden, would they?

@m000gletje i dont think it's that people don't care, it's rather more capacity allocation

for myself: i dont have the capacity to try to emotionally support everyone on my timeline (hell, i dont even have the spoons to reply to everyone on some of my posts)

they'll allocate emotional resources to people they care about, and if you're fedi famous there'll be more people who give a shit about you, and you'll be in people's timelines more

and about the last point: honestly, to a degree, yeah you're right for some people.
but not everyone who feels alone is alone.
if you were alone a huge part of your life, or just got used to it, it's hard to realize you aren't.

you can have people checking up on you, be able to vent and be met with nothing but understanding and care, and yet still feel alone and like a burden. doesn't mean you are.

@m000gletje also note: your replies don't federate properly, wafrn does stuff weird i think, i know of this post only because the bluesky bridge bot notified me of it and i manually had to federate it to my instance by adding it as a quote in a post and only then it appeared in my notifications

so youre just proving all my points which means your OP is just a bunch of feel-good lies, that will negatively impact a person who's not fedi famous and is outcasted by everyone

because no one is there for them. and you give those people false hope that someone out there cares but the crushing reality is that they could die and nothing would change in the world for anyone.

so let's not feed people lies, i personally fume over that concept because it only hurt me more in the process where i got stuck in a limbo of survival to this day instead of killing myself as i should've done that when i turned 18

don't tell people shit you can't guarantee in this case. it's understandable you cant guarantee care, but then also don't suggest it

@schrottkatze authoritarianism and fashy ideologies in general are self-destructuve btw. oppression is a footgun, institutions that resort to it never last. thus, overall, society keeps improving somewhat over time; there is always hope
