I hate these medical forms online! I signed it, dated it and tried to submit it, but the signature of patient or guardian is required. So I tried tapping on the page to sign again, but voiceover won't let me into the text field. I suspect there isn't one, so I am going to need sighted help to submit this damn consent form.
@EJGilbert Yeah, it probably wants a drawn signature. If you explore by touch and discover roughly where it wants the signature, like at the bottom center of the screen, you can turn off Voiceover, do some squiggles in that general area, then turn it on again. It usually takes me two or three tries but eventually something lands in that spot and it will let me submit. Really annoying, though.
@ricky_enger Really? Well argggggggg! Thanks for explaining to me.
@EJGilbert @ricky_enger I'd like to thank you, as well. I've encountered these on my PC and it never occurred to me to try signing using my phone. Thanks so much.
@EJGilbert I hope it works for you. I really don't understand why they can't just have a button like on Docusign where it lets you choose a signature style, type your name and be done with it.
@ricky_enger I don't think that occurs to these people. Oh well, in about ten minutes or so I'm going to get sighted assistance since it didn't work for me even though I tried it 4 times.
@EJGilbert @ricky_enger The other challenge is that complaining to people at the medical facility likely won't do much good, as they probably won't understand the problem and wouldn't know who to report it to even if they did. You may have to do some sleuthing on the Web site to see who maintains it and report this to them directly.
@DavidGoldfield @ricky_enger I can do that this weekend. As it is, I need to have this done today or tomorrow at the very latest because my appointment is Friday afternoon.
@EJGilbert @ricky_enger oh, of course. Absolutely; it could take some time for your feedback to be routed to the appropriate team. Depending on how big the company is who maintains the site, there could well be a team that specifically manages that form, if not that specific element. Ricky is right in that having an interface like Docusign would be preferable.
@EJGilbert I am so thankful that both my dentist and BBPH, where I go for vaccinations, still use paper forms. They may have online options too, but paper forms are what I'm given, and they are not super involved either. I'm sure it's annoying when you can't submit something. Ugh!
@EJGilbert Another thing I appreciate about BBPH is, without my asking, they gave me a print copy of my vaccination record. And, every time I go there for a vaccination, they provide me with a print copy to document it. It's old school, I know, but I like it that way.
