#US negotiators invitation to the #FM of #Iran, Abbas Araghchi in middle of the tensions is nothing new. #US has done this multiple times to multiple different power brokers. It has been done prior to #DJT coming to power. Will be done after #DJT retires from office. Aim is to prevent a conflict by show casing overwhelming capability. Basically a show of force.

Nothing bizarre/idiosyncratic/unorthodox about it.
