@the_heruman lol the only vegetarian thing I could find was an egg sandwich 🫠
Thankfully I had scored some vegetarian braised noodles at Hong Kong airport 10 or so hours earlier so I wasn’t suuuuper hungry.
Anyway only had 2.5 hours to play outside then had to go back to airport to catch my flight home
@anna Ouch, that was a really short stay... You need to go back with more time!
As for the food, yeah, being vegetarian in Japan isn't easy. Even the most basic noodle soup usually has a broth made with pork or fish. There are versions made only with kombu seaweed, but without speaking the language (and especially in a small city) it must be nearly impossible to find. The only "easy" thing that comes to mind is rice and tempura of vegetables...
Have a nice flight back home!
tempura 🤢
No.
And thanks! I was lucky that my replacement flight from Osaka to Amsterdam was with KLM and they seem to offer vegetarian food by default, so it didn’t matter that I hadn’t had a chance to book a special meal.
Anyway. Typing this while walking to my office in Delft 😭
