Made a rare trip to an actual movie theater tonight to see #Tommy in #IMAX. Can't believe it's been 50 years since it came out. I watched it about ten years after the original release, but had forgotten much of it.

Tina Turner got applause from our #SanFrancisco audience after her "Acid Queen" scene 🙂

Amusingly, the only other movies I recall seeing in theaters since COVID are the 4K remasters of Stop Making Sense and The Abyss (both in 2023), and Spinal Tap II (2025).

I might blog about this at some point, but in brief: In 1996 I won tickets to see #TheWho perform #Quadrophenia in San Jose, by singing a few bars of "See Me, Feel Me" from #Tommy on a local morning TV show.
