Speaking of #guitar, I’m working on another one!
Got it wired up today, with a pickup I wound, a vintage oil and paper tone cap (I don't believe the hype, but I've had it in a drawer for years... shit needed to get used), and a Pure Tone jack...
Still need to cut a custom pick guard to cover that empty neck pickup cavity, string it up and do a setup.
For a pick guard, I’m thinking something like this. I’ll clean up the final one a bit.
@automattack It’s funny, I think on most guitars I prefer a pickguard, but I like the look of an SG without one. I get that you want to cover the pickup cavity, but the neck pup on mine rusted from sweat and fell out around 2005 and I just left it like that lol
@stooge I tend to like the small pick guard on SGs, or none. But yeah, I do want to cover the cavity.
@automattack I feel like if you’re gonna go white, you might want something more like pearl or ivory to match the inlays
@automattack Anyway looks awesome, makin me want to dig mine out. I almost never play w humbuckers anymore
@stooge oh that’s just a paper template. I was thinking a cream pearloid, but the material is way expensive. I’m thinking’s about using a thin plywood now.
