I’ve read a lot recently about how Herbert meant Paul to be considered “bad”, & I don’t really get it. I mean, sure, he started a holy war & billions died. But, like, the first 2 books are him trying to beat super bad people & shake up a corrupt political system, while trying to chart the *least* bloody path he could through the disasters his prescience kept showing him. We’ll never know if he could have done better, but he for damn sure tried, so maybe we cut him some slack, yeah? 🤨
