Oof. Mehran is one of the people in the "inner circle" of DiEM25 (the "ex officios" and coordinating collective). He hosts the DiEM podcast among other things.

This is the closest I've come to getting someone in the inner circle to listen to me on the tech issue... aaaand this is also why I will probably never be successful as an organizer. Damn.

Can someone teach me tolerance? I mean I doubt it, but... please?

edited: "...Lol. Just kidding. I know it is difficult to organize people. Just hope DiEM admin consider a bit more the Big Tech situation and defer a bit more to people leading the free software and digital rights movements like Cory Doctorow so we don’t shoot ourselves in the foot. Most people who understand the seriousness of the situation, especially those in the Fediverse, see DiEM capitulating to all Big Tech and think we are hypocritical, counter-revolutionary, and ignorant because of it."
@resl I've had a similar conversation with him in YT comments with similar amount of "success"
@matus_chochlik It's so exciting to be able to connect as a huge group of people all over the world, so then with that ability it feels even more unnerving to fail so spectacularly at organizing lol

@resl I know some people (one of them is my partner) who manage the social media accounts of various organizations and like .. science has given us CTRL+C / CTRL+V quite some time ago :P

Not to mention that an organization like DIEM25 could easily maintain their own Mastodon (or some other more suitable Fedi server) instance or two on their own.

@resl to me #DiEM seems like a #ControlledOpposition at best if utterly ineffective with TERFs around it orbiting...
