child, you want to be a monochromist?

@prahou no, i actually quite like color, it provides great beauty

Was just complaining an hour ago that all the cars on the road are boring because they're all monochrome now :p

@pixx @prahou and when they have colour, it's always some really muted colour like a dark blue or that beige that seems to be popular with some new cars like the Dacia Duster and some Mazdas

@reiddragon @pixx @prahou

Stupid car trends:

2000s: Oversized manufacturer badges
2010s: Oversized front grilles
2020s: Muted, dull colors
2030s: Three wheels??!? (Reliant Robin, here we come!)
2040s: Flintstones cars??
2050s: No seats??
2060s: Rear wheel (only) steering?
2070s: Backward-facing driver's seat?

@rl_dane @pixx @prahou at this point I could fully believe a rear steering mid engine front wheel drive car being built

@reiddragon @pixx @prahou

Maybe some kind of crazy sports car. Rear steering for more maneuverability like tail-heavy fighter planes. XD

Honda had 4-wheel steering all the way back in the 80s with the Prelude circa 1987. The rear wheels would steer against the front wheels at low speeds for a tighter turning radius, and with the front wheels at high speeds for smooth lane changes.

Didn't last long, probably had its own maintenance headaches. Crazy neat idea, though. I think I've seen another car maker use that in more recent years.

Hmm, seems it's both older than I realized, and more prevalent (but still kind of a niche):
