2000s: Oversized manufacturer badges
2010s: Oversized front grilles
2020s: Muted, dull colors
2030s: Three wheels??!? (Reliant Robin, here we come!)

2060s: Rear wheel (only) steering?
2070s: Backward-facing driver's seat?
Maybe some kind of crazy sports car. Rear steering for more maneuverability like tail-heavy fighter planes. XD
Honda had 4-wheel steering all the way back in the 80s with the Prelude circa 1987. The rear wheels would steer against the front wheels at low speeds for a tighter turning radius, and with the front wheels at high speeds for smooth lane changes.
Didn't last long, probably had its own maintenance headaches. Crazy neat idea, though. I think I've seen another car maker use that in more recent years.

We've already started putting more and more cameeas in cars. They're getting cheaper.
Replace the windshield with a real time camera view. Have it face the interior. It'll feel like you're driving forwards.
In case of an accident, you now have way more padding without problems!!!

Not to mention, human eyesight (with glasses/contacts if needed) is pretty stellar -- we basically see in HDR, no? That would be pretty important when dealing with bright lights.
And with windshields, when something gets on the windshield, you can lean around it and still see outside. But if something got on the camera(s).... Even if you had multiple, it would be a worse situation.
That's okay; since we'll have mote train and bus service and need half as many cars, it's not a huge issue if sight is blocked for a second while the windshield wipers sweep off the bugs π

Eh, with modern camera tech, cameras can react to bright lights way faster than the human eye, and can recover way, way faster.
With a camera vision system, you never need be blinded by idiots' LED headlights ever again.

Seriously fuck led headlights. I want them banned. They've almost gotten me killed biking at night twice already. (Side roads with no street lights, from no lighting to literally blind super quick)

I don't think we'll have a) met within my lifetime and, if we do, i think it won't be long before b) becomes illegal.
(I'd still use the train most times but where it's not possible, handing over control while napping is better than a hotel arguably?)
