Sam Bankman-Fried’s mom, a former law professor, has been asked to please stop filing documents on her son’s behalf in regards to his motion for a retrial (where he is supposedly representing himself)

@molly0xfff It's interesting also how badly, how haphazardly she's doing all that. Voicemail. Badly formed letter.

@molly0xfff "In the circumstances, the due date for any response [...] is extended on the Court's own initiative."

I hate this so much. SBF gets an extension, but the masses who *don't* have a law school parent get told "you should have known the processes and followed the law!"

@molly0xfff Helicopter lawyering?
@wevdap @molly0xfff Yeah, this whole helicopter parenting thing is kinda getting out of control.

@molly0xfff I read a long profile of the family somewhere a few years ago, and she seemed to be blinded by love for her son. She was the only one I really felt for in the story.

But you could also see how approach of the parents produced the child.

@molly0xfff The ironic thing is that if it weren't for her own honesty, SBF probably would have just bought a pardon like the other crypto criminals. But she really believes he's innocent, she's not the kind of person who would pay a bribe, and she seems to be running the show.
@molly0xfff hahaha gosh i can’t imagine how he turned out to be so entitled and believe that rules shouldn’t apply to him, where would he have gotten that idea…

In yesterday's "The Practice Has Two Requirements. Everything Else Is Conditioning" post, I named the two requirements for a consistent, demonstrated antiracist practice. A strong why and a practiced capacity to ask what you are missing. This post is about what it costs when either one is absent.

Without a strong why, you perform. You show up when it is visible, when it is comfortable, when it costs you nothing. You use the language. You share the posts.

@molly0xfff this is fuckin hysterical 🤣

@molly0xfff

"Sam Bankman-Fried’s mom, a former law professor, has been asked to please stop filing documents on her son’s behalf"

"asked to" "please stop"

And here we have the entire problem currently faced by the United States of America

The Federal Judiciary has been emasculated and rendered impotent

They run away in panic at any insult

When has any one of these clowns -- all the way up to Donald Trump himself -- ever suffered one single real world consequence of any kind whatsoever for their continued malfeasance?

Never

Oh

But let's give Sammy's mom another week or so to maybe get something figured out next time

I spit on these spineless judges and their utter lack of courage

@molly0xfff Sam's mommy is butting in? For anyone else this would be mortifying.
@molly0xfff I’m sure “SO ORDERED” is commonplace in documents like this, but here it lands with a heavy and satisfying sass.
@molly0xfff You can excuse this, because his mother obviously has no knowledge of the law.

@molly0xfff

"Losers! They're all losers, Miss Jade!"

Double H, Beyond Good and Evil (2003 ish)

@molly0xfff do we know already if she is also a vegan?
@djh @molly0xfff This is a really rude and insulting response. Why punch down?
@leftyknowitall @molly0xfff It's not if you consider the "I'm a vegan don't prosecute me" defense these folks ran in court; that's what this hot take was about. I have nothing against vegans.

@molly0xfff

Mom, I don't like it here, everyone is being mean to me - come pick me up.

--Sam Bankman-Fried, probably

@molly0xfff "He engaged in massive fraud,” he said. “Wall Street’s not needing him back to fix any problems. He helped us identify a problem by committing a massive amount of fraud — and we rewarded him with a long stay in a federal prison.”

Rick Scott also commited massive fraud but he is a "respected" United States senator. It all depends on who you steal from.

‘The guy’s a piece of s--t’: SBF’s pardon push falls flat in Congress

Sam Bankman-Fried, who was convicted in 2023 on fraud charges after his FTX crypto exchange collapsed, has been heaping praise on President Donald Trump.

@molly0xfff next level helicopter parenting
@molly0xfff
