It’s been a while since I really used #obsidian so I setup a fresh vault. About 30 files, two small images in one file and only one plugin (minimal theme settings). The iOS app is laggy AF. It loads faster than I remember but scrolling docs is just plain laggy.
@greg Do you pay for sync? I avoided it for years, but it's what made it suck less on mobile.
@webology not anymore. I did for about six months. How would that make it suck less?

@greg @webology My experience splits the difference between yours: paid sync has been far more reliable than iCloud, SyncThing, or Sync.com (faster, “smarter” merging updates, version safety net), but edits in the iOS app often don’t save completely despite explicitly saving the file and giving it time before exiting, hopeful line breaks, etc.

Every now and then, I’ll make edits either on macOS or iOS that mysteriously vanish and aren’t reflected in the sync history—but thankfully that’s rare.

@greg @webology Bah, and I flew right in about sync—sorry! I do recall that reducing stutter compared to iCloud, but I also audited mobile plugins and disabled a few and that helped quite a bit.
@mattrambles @webology if I continue with Obsidian I may retry their sync. I have 1 plugin. I had the lag before I installed that also.
