@guffo it didn't last long before I found out about DAOs - https://www.investopedia.com/tech/what-dao/
If you thought NFTs were dumb, imagine running your corporation/organization with blockchain voting!
If that sounds ridiculous to you, and you question how that could ever work, you're right! They don't.
It looks like some crypto-bro read Marx books while high af and tried to apply it while keeping capitalism at a maximum. Wtf ?! :D
My head hurt after two paragraphs. Holy shit.
@guffo I dunno, the stupidity of NFTs still hold up for me. It’s literally owning numbers associated with a thing that gives you no special rights or uses to that thing. The purest possible grift. Does anything really beat that?
AI is infuriating, and causes lots of harm, but I don’t think its main vice is that its a dumb idea.
@Zoonpolitikon @guffo You don't even own numbers. You cannot apply intellectual property regulations to 42 or pi.
You own a number in a specific system that assigns numbers.
@TheMNWolf maybe that's why it appealed to me. Regular Pepsi was always too sweet to me.
For a few years Pepsi Max was perfect. Then they reduced the caffeine content and it became too sweet again. Apparently, the caffeine is what cuts down on the sweet flavor.
Is there already NFT-as-a-service, where you can only rent the NFTs? With absurd price of course.
@sarah
Something fungi something?
I do remember the name
Non fungible token
But no way do I understand it - it seems *really* stupid
