Black Celebration is the fifth studio album by Depeche Mode, released on March 17, 1986. This is the album that finds them transition from "industrial pop" to a much darker, more atmospheric, tech-noir" sound. Some fans are unsettled but the new sound resonates with a whole new audience and ends up influencing the 1980s music scene.
