Another fake post is spreading like wildfire on social media.

It sounds so authentic that Trump would write a post blaming his Iran war catastrophy on Barack Obama, but Trump never wrote this post, which anyone can verify by searching for it on Google.

The US midterm elections will be disinformation hell, but we can fight back by always verifying our sources.

@dannyreving @randahl I read yesterday in someones posting that Trum wanted to rename the "Strait of Hormuz" into "Strait of America".
It sounded bonkers. With literally everybody else I would have known that it was a joke. With this one? I looked it up. Because Trump is completely bonkers. It is absolutely disgusting that the political caste, the so-called "Elite" all over the world just runs with it and let him do whatever.

@art_histories @randahl from my perspective the whole world including less antisocial leaders in more sane countries are being held hostage by this absolute amoral piece of s… The worlds most powerful leader is a malignant narcissist with clear antisocial tendencies. The EU and Canada has to navigate this bizarre situation and disconnect as quickly as possible from the US without The Orange Toddler having too many tantrums. I don’t envy our leaders in this crazy time in history.

@dannyreving @randahl Oh, absolutely! I don't envy them. The situation is extreme.
But the political caste in the US should have dealt with him a long time ago. Because no one stood up to him it became a worldwide problem now. But it's not only the US! In Germany our gouvernment is very right-leaning and we can observe the same phenomenon. We have a clueless, incompetent politicians and there is no opposition. The rate the far right party is now growing because of unhappy voters is scary.

@randahl I've seen it recommended to put a big red "FAKE" label or 🚫 or similar directly over reposted disinformation to highlight the fakeness, otherwise the repetition risks reinforcing the fake information in readers' brains.
