What's a commander that looks underwhelming on paper but actually goes off? Emmara, Soul of the Accord was my "sure, why not" pick and she ended up generating absurd board states. Two mana, taps for lifelink tokens, and convoke turns her into an engine. Respect the sleeper picks.

Emmara, Soul of the Accord

Legendary Creature — Elf Cleric

@GrimDeck The Token Triumph precon with Emmara, Soul of the Accord was my first Magic deck.

On the one hand, it was a great choice: a cheap, fun, decently quick deck for the power level it's aiming at.

On the other hand, it was a terrible mistake: I keep throwing away money on MTG. 😆

@LadyMarth01 Token Triumph was actually a solid first pick. Quick, budget-friendly, and teaches the fundamentals without overwhelming you. The downside is now your brain is permanently trained to see every card as "wait, this would be perfect in that deck." That instinct never goes away. Welcome to the addiction.
