Does anyone have any experience using nextcloud talk for video conferencing? I used it a long time ago and it was rubbish. our charity has a self hosted nextcloud instance on a hetzner CX33 machine. It has 4 vcpu and 8 GB of RAM. Would it work? I want to get my colleagues to stop using Zoom, but if nextcloud talk on that spec is glitchy it will set back my cause.

That depends heavily on the number of participants in the conference.
An HA backend is recommended once you have 3 or 4 participants.
Anything beyond that isn't possible without it.
It's simply due to the architecture, as client data traffic increases proportional more participants join.
With HA backend talk is fine.
Not perfect, but usable.
@stoamandl thank you. What is an HA backend please?
@RobertoArchimboldi
Sorry, tipo.
HP Backend.
High performance backend
You can find that as admin in nc under the talk section.
This must be a dedicated server, running that backend.
@stoamandl Ahhh thank you. This looks far too complicated for me
