I was trying to install #debian on my #pinebookpro, as I turn it on semi-yearly and the slackware update churn just isn’t for this device. They have images you cat together, one with firmware, the other the net installer. Only the firmware image doesn’t actually contain any useful firmware. Can’t use wifi without the brcm driver to install the OS even. Why make a pinebookpro firmware image if there’s no firmware on it? 🙃
@jloc0 Not sure what revision of the PBP you have, but on mine it was possible to install #debian derivate #wmlive using the arm64 ISO image from https://wmlive.sourceforge.net and Wi-Fi works. Might be necessary to have a recent towboot installed on its SPI to enable EFI boot, though.
Window Maker Live

@wmlive yeah I’ve got tow-boot installed, but no idea how recent it is. I bought it during the Covid-era restock, so it’s been a few years. I’ll have to look into that iso next time I’m feeling froggy! Thanks for the info!
