Mother in law wants to replace her 17 Tucson with a Forester, Rav4, or CRV. She has 52k miles on her FWD Tucson and it's mainly low speed commuting. I have 0 Subaru experience. Any reasons to go for the Rav4/CRV instead? Gas Mileage isn't too much of a concern nor is the slow infotainment.
@sumo I’m a “Subaru fan” (if you can call it that), as I’ve appreciated the reliability of their vehicles for many, many years. I’ve been driving the latest Forester model (MY25) for a year now, which, unfortunately, is only available in the 2-liter version in the EU.
If you’re looking for something a bit smaller but more agile, the Crosstrek is also a good choice. But of course, that’s just my subjective opinion. My wife is very happy with her Hyundai ix20.
@chromblitzen The main issue is my mother in law getting into and out of the car. The Crosstrek would be perfect for her but she hits her head on the roof. Forrester is perfect in that regard and she drove it today. she loves it. Do you have any issues with the infotainment?
@sumo I do not have any issues. Every thing is working w/o any problems. I have the Platinum-Model (MY25) and the HK-Soundsystem is working also great
@chromblitzen She took to it pretty well. She got the Limited so it has the HK Soundsystem, but she doesn't listen to music when she drives. But we got her phone hooked up and the wireless Apple Carplay works great! She is driving it back to DE today so I'm hoping to get a positive report once she is home.
