The complaints about Unicode that people from the anglosphere have are much less interesting that the complaints *people from everywhere else* have.
I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but some people seem to go out of their way to clarify that their position is "fuck anyone who isn't exactly like me".

Every time there's a new conversation about how "invisible codepoints" can be used to confuse people, it kicks off a fresh wave of stale complaints about how latin-1 should have been enough for everyone. Your language's script uses zero-width-join for encoding some words or uses RTL or has "weird" diacritics? “‘I’ shouldn't have to care about you.”
@ekuber I used to keep reminding people that the (mostly western) concept of case (in)sensitivity has brought us more security and compatibility issues than almost anything else.
