1. Are these getting vandalised in a specific way?
2. Is this a 'clever' advertising campaign?
3. Is some sort of centralised control of these under attack?

@devolute hmm, I just assumed it was going wrong. It was cycling between being blank and patterns like this every few seconds. If another is doing it that may point towards some sort of centralised control problem, or it could just be a co-incidence.
