behold: cursed image (W25N02JV instruction set table)

the more you look at it, the worse it gets

there's a mode bit that makes it look like this instead (note the Read/Fast Read latency)
in taiwanese winbond, we can transmit up to eight bytes per byte
WECOME  TO OUR COMPANY WEBSITE

@GroupNebula563 this looks kinda normal actually?
@whitequark …until you learn that these are all clones of the Famicom CPU and PPU in one chip with added features
@whitequark at least everything is bit-aligned

@phooky really scraping the bottom of the barrel here

but yes

@phooky @whitequark missed opportunity to break out the "decioctet" unit
@whitequark my favorite has to be the byte-unalinged bytes

"this read takes 10.5 byte cycles" and other derranged sentances
@ignaloidas there are some flashes where you're supposed to be able to transmit quarter- and half-bytes (mode cycles) but at least they don't unalign everything after
@whitequark hmm, crackhead.technology is now the first search result for W25N02JV on DuckDuckGo.
