I drew the same shape on all of these points, so why does FreeCAD not extrude them all the same?
@theodric you'd think the extrusion path has a default which could be reasonsbly expected to be linear and perpendicular to the plane of the 2d geometry. But that hasn't always been true from the things I've seen (which in full disclosure is very old experiences FWIW- from knowledge I gained in '97 when I actually did this sort of thing with Unigraphics.) Is there a way to interrogate that in FreeCAD?

@chux0r there are some geometry inspection functions, yes. What seems to have happened here is that FreeCAD decided that 3/4 rectangles I drew with the rectangle tool (as well as the circle I drew afterward) were non-continuous. I have no idea why, or how. Somehow the circle also didn't count as a closed shape. Why it then decided to try and extrude a couple of vectors with a null value in one dimension escapes me!

FreeCAD is absolutely amazing and utterly useless in the same breath...

@theodric ok, that tracks. Hate it when I zoom in 3200x and find that the thing isn't closed- especially if I had "snap to vertex" on when I made the damn thing
