reconsidering my Threads usage, since that app still somehow has a death grip on me

my main action everyday on that app is blocking people... I get its good practice to help keep the feed and algo manageable, but it's the thing I do the most there.. how does that make it a good social network if all I'm doing is combing through trash to block?

I have seen there's great conversations and connections to be made, but I mostly just see (justifiable) pile ons, bots commenting the most bigoted shit imaginable or just flat out zero reading comprehension and rage bait

I need to really curate my interests on networks that aren't there to bring out the worst in people and just really find better uses of my time that isn't getting sucked into zuck platforms and rage bait (even though there's plenty to go around with the way things are going 🙄)
@bds You may imagine you're wasting your time in unhealthy environments, but what's really happening is you're being harvested by a $300+ billion industry. Imagine an intensive factory farming feedlot but it's all of our minds crowded together in little pens where psychologists and data engineers poke us with electric prods and feed us slop to encourage addictive behaviors. You should be angry. Good luck!
@HumanResources thanks, this is a good reminder that I am most definitely the product in that arrangement.. I need to ween off my addiction to these manipulative apps already -_-
