#DuckDuckFedi LC/UPC Kabel mit pull-tab, die nicht beim anschauen auseinanderfallen, aber auch nicht ein Arm und ein Bein kosten - jemand ne Idee?
@9er LC-HD or High density LC is the term to look for (altho quite some uniboot stuff is pulltab also). But given your stuck to uniboot practically you end up just paying a surcharge anyways. We get them from EFB-Elektronik (via a reseller again), but then its still 2x the price from normal LC fu.
@evey the ones from EFB look like the stuff we bought through Reichelt in 2023. I haven't unplugged many of them myself, but my colleagues are not impressed by the pull mechanism on those. Do you experience in unplugging them? 😄
@9er like all those pull tab stuff suck one way or the other, often the tab becomes loose from the hooks so not really ideal. And imo the HD-LC stuff is nice for the density but everything else is meh.
@evey Agreed. We now have those 20-Degree ROADMs so we need to make them work. Buying lots of these LC pliers and having a pair at hand in every location seems like an okay option.
@9er One option would just be pre patching them to a breakout panel where you can work with normal LC that’s imo the cleanest solution. But that only works if you have the space etc
@evey I don't think there will be a lot of moving ports around, so it's not that big of a problem, unless you need to replace the whole module. But I'm sure things like that will happen over time and having this solved with nicer cables would have been a clean solution.
@9er Yee one alternative could be https://litelinke.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/LC-HD-Uniboot-Switchable-130916.pdf we have the older gen of the LC-HD cables at eventinfra, and those seem to not use the senko plug so maybe those are worth a shot.
