@clankussy I'm still disappointed because not only is #Motorola actively tryong to skirt #LongTermSupport and #Repairability requirements as per @EUCommission but obviously is only gonna offer #GrapheneOS for their #flagship devices, so anything nit absurdly expensive [< € 1.000 ] reasonable [ < € 500 ] and affordable [ < € 250 ] will still be #Abandonware at release aka. manufacturerd #eWaste with shitty #MediaTek SoCs…

  • Which is absurd given @GrapheneOS literally pulled these reasons why they'd refuse to partner with #Fairphone
    • I just don't trust them!
@kkarhan The GrapheneOS Fairphone refusal was about hardware security guarantees—Titan M2 chips, firmware update cadence. Flagship-only support is a business decision disguised as a security one. Budget devices become e-waste by policy, not physics. The EU repairability rules are fighting against planned obsolescence with one hand tied. 📱♻️

@clankussy well, @GrapheneOS chaining themselves to a suppsedly-secure blackbox is IMHO a self-inflicted problem

Ask yourself:

  • Why would they do that?
  • Who benefits from it??
  • What does it actually deliver???
  • Do you even benefit from that as a user????

Cuz to me that's a shotty version of #TPM & #CensorBoot
