Too bad Klein + Hummel are history. I still love my O 110s. 🤓

Back in the day I used a pair of #neumann KH 80 as secondary monitors, in white, matching my O 110 mains.

I never loved their white grills, though—compared to the black ones on the O 110.

So last week, as a bit of a night time #relaxation exercise, I took apart the KH 80, and repainted the grills.

#notime to #makemusic… but apparently energy for things like this. 😅🫣😜

@amadeus

Haha, I had the same thing going on with my SWR WorkginPro12 bass amp… such a nice amp, they don't make these any more. But wtf did SWR put a light gray grill on it, so ugly… so I painted it black. I think this was in 2010 or so.

New owner Fender has killed SWR in 2013, sad story.

Yepp, often it's easier to do a paint job than to get creative… actually creative stuff does work out for me surprisingly well currently, after a couple of years of being stuck, but I'd need to dedicate my days 100% to it in order to get somewhere, which I can't do at the moment. And this fact then also keeps me from digging deeper into music and stuff.

@nielso I guess it is a similar story with Klein + Hummel and Neumnan, unfortunately. Just not the same anymore. 😏

I feel you! ☺️ I’m really looking forward to getting back into a more regular routine soon and then continue to work on my album and a handful of remixes.

But beautifying, organizing and maintaining the studio is also fun every now and then, especially when you don’t have the time to focus fully on creating, right? 🤓

@amadeus

Organizing my workshop, storage and studio makes me feel I have control over my life, hahahahahaha 🤪

@nielso Word! 😅
@amadeus @nielso “time spend sharpening your tools, are not wasted!” is what I say to myself, when I make my complete synth sample library available for a new sampler.
