I learned last night that I was just always playing on 16:9 when I guess it's just a quake secret to always play shooters 4:3 since it will only foreshorten vertically, so everyone is wider in comparison, as well as closer together since things need to be squished down to fit properly. I've never been told this and I guess that's what everyone does. It's also more accurate to how humans see, with our overlapping vision, so it's better for our depth perception and why things can seem off in 16:9.
Am I like just the only one that didn't know this was how shooters worked lmao I feel like I was missing something as basic as how to throw a grenade or something.
