Yesterday was a really bad mental health day. Just absolute system shutdown at dealing with the idea that we spent a LOT of money just six months ago to move into a 3 bedroom house where one of the rooms is not usable as a bedroom (or in my case, office). Literally all I did yesterday until like 5pm was stare at whatever came up on YouTube. Most of it wasn't even good.

Doing better today. Still really pissed off about the situation but the only thing that got ruined was the pad under my office rug. It could have been worse.

Today we're starting to brainstorm and make plans for how to fix shit. The first and foremost is that the laminate boards down there have got to go. They're just on the basement floor with no sort of underfloor or vapor barrier or anything.

It is going to be a pain in the ass if, as I suspect from the water patterns on the aforementioned rug pad, there's a drain in the floor IN the bedroom. But we will work around this one way or another.
Anyway, our current plan is "throw money at professionals to tell as how to throw more money at them so they can fix it." Which as far as plans go is not the worst I've heard.
