People who characterize DOGE as having failed in its mission startle me.

Of course, that mission wasn't what the thoroughly and repeatedly documented straight-faced liars said it was, so I suppose there's room for some naïve folks to think that.

The mission -- "destroy one of the most successful governments in the history of the world as much as possible as quickly as possible while creating maximum chaos and taking a profit" -- was a stunning success.

@GeePawHill DOGE was more like a wild fire, massive destruction. The forrest, though diminished, survived. DOGE supporters (sick asses) were wanting something more like a nuclear bast. that would take all but let's say 1% of people

@GaryAsh @GeePawHill I’m really not sure that DOGE had anything like a real goal. They were pure peacock display: “irritable mental gestures”¹ combined with “move fast and break things.”. Actual substantive, considered, lasting change would have taken way too long and too much thought. Futurism² for today: speed! speed! speed! The Machine!

@GaryAsh @GeePawHill Waxing philosophical: our problem is that we think “has a goal” vs. “doesn’t have a goal” is a true/false binary. I think we should reject such binaries more often.

In which I take on the binary

Human beans love thinking in binary oppositions. That is often way too crude for serious understanding and problem-solving. I offer a complex visual metaphor that might help you and others push against the binary reflex.

@marick @GaryAsh @GeePawHill The destruction was the goal. They targeted orgs that Musk considered obstacles and looted as much as they could. Even after Musk was driven out, his stooges remained in place.
@maccruiskeen @marick @GaryAsh @GeePawHill
Yes, if there had been a structural goal rather than a destructional goal, the world's Dumbest Man per Dollar wouldn't have been put in charge and then disowned as not a government official once he'd fucked it up.
@GeePawHill calling the US government one of the most successful governments seems to ignore what most non US people regard as success
@asformack It depends, of course, on what you measure.

@asformack this ... Came here to say I doubt the successfulness on several aspects.
The original ideals have some merit, but 2,5 centuries execution is flawed 😏

@GeePawHill

@nanowiz @GeePawHill I genuinely wish that program could have been used in the right way.

I'm not opposed to regulation if it makes sense to do it. Like updating scientific knowledge, understanding of how processes work if there's a more refined way to do that.

But capping regulation or extending extra steps to get the basics done has to be easier than what it currently is. Especially in the job/employer marketplace.

I'm honestly shocked at just how little attention doge has gotten as a whole past like March of last year, let alone May when Musk essentially quit and then did that whole staged Trump falling out. Maybe it wasn't staged, too many egos in one place. Who cares.

I love the idea of it, but nobody has put the homeland first. Not really. And you know what? I don't even care about that these days. I just want a stable life. that's it. A long lasting, drama free, stable life.

I absolutely have grown to despise the necessity of politics. Because it's clear that nothing is safe from bureaucratic enforcement. And that I am far from okay with at any level. Be it good or bad for us.

I DO NOT want any government making a cut off of what I think or how I say something. Moments pass when emotions run high and they should be allowed to. end of story.

I don't want my and future generations to forget the importance of personal choice and responsibility that coincides alongside that. You'd think that this shit should've been figured out centuries ago. And honestly, all it takes is a little reconfiguration. Nothing to write home about in scathing blastworthy posts for what has it been now, decades on end at this point?

I'm sick of the game. The endless, tiresome back and fourth getting nothing done while posting little by little about the importance of what has to be halted before progress can begin. We weren't meant to live life like this. And just for the record, eliminating people off the playing field isn't progress. It's regression into 4th world ideology. Or last world ideology.

Case in point, if you're not building a legacy for yourself, and are left alone to try. Something's deeply wrong with the society we have embraced. Not as a culture, but as a whole. As an existential element towards civilization. And now I am starting to understand how and why ancient empires fall and are allowed to be carried into newer evolutions, often times by force.

It's not just because we didn't speak up, or because we didn't do enough to qwell opposition. It's fundamentally because someone planned our obsolessence before we even knew what it meant to be taken seriously only in part.

Ultimately I'm not ashamed at any one person or individual or even group of people. I'm fundamentally disgusted at the disrespect we've allowed our standards of life to fall into at the hands of nobody in particular. But systematically weaponized for the sport of it.

It's honestly like watching a leaky tap turn into a broken water pipe spilling out everywhere and yet the entire sub division where this is going on is literally untouchable so the problem persists because it's empty and nobody lives there.

Would you want to come home to fix up a mess you didn't make? If the answer is no, I hate to say it, because I don't believe this to be true. But you're apart of the problem, because the mess is running on autopilot until somebody says yes. And we're dealing with the fallout of how badly we need that yes to multiply the longer this shit goes on.

Believing and seeing are two separate stages of the same process which must remain focused on their own goals, in order for one to dissolve safely into the other without causing a further escalating incident to occur alternatively. That's how the act of resolution begins.

@GeePawHill

the destruction of functional social programs was a major goal, along with the destruction and the smashing of privacy firewalls everyone so that DHS/ICE could accelerate their pogrom.

@GeePawHill

That’s a pretty easy job if you are given, unlimited funds and absolute freedom to do every kind of damage you can think of

@GeePawHill
And data theft. There was a lot of data theft.
@pomegranate_stew @GeePawHill Yeah. On day one they installed back doors, then they exfilatrated all government data at leisure.
@GeePawHill Palantir has our data, mission accomplished
@GeePawHill

The side quest being "steal as much info as possible from institutional databases for profit" and it went pretty well

@GeePawHill Handling inefficiency in truth would've involved things like nationalizing Raytheon so they stop taking absurd cuts on everything.

Or real national healthcare and public health & safety standard reforms to cutback on the absurd economic waste so many getting sick, maimed or dying causes.

(Just look at the yearly cost of the flu, it's ridiculous.)

@GeePawHill And why did they work on US goverment? With all due respect, US was even before DOGE a near-failed state.

@GeePawHill I'd agrue "most successful governments in the history of the world" considering how many people in the US are in poverty.

DOGE, the meme coin, also sought the same - a continuously devaulued coin due to the production of new DOGE coins.

This original post is failed. Everything about the US corporation (corporations have presidents, democratic governments have ministers) has failed.

There has never been anything successful about the US outside of getting to the Moon, imo. And that was well before the cost of living diverged from the average wage.

Since then, any success has been on the backs of another citizen falling into debt or death.

@GeePawHill

DOGE also stole and transmitted vast amounts of Social Security and personal information to foreign enemies of the US. It's treason up and down the line.
