My poor Opteron with 8 GB was straining a lot with the transcoding despite the hardware acceleration…

I guess that tells me how well the ML facial recognition would work  I’ve disabled it for now; need to tweak some other things first. And maybe I can find a used piece of DDR4 ECC RAM.

@[email protected] I’m currently running it with docker compose. Next step would be to switch to rootless (the root containers irk me). Then setting up proper backup, then tweaking Redis, then importing all my old images, … 😂

@ah yeah in my case it’s a bare metal Debian. I have another service that also needs Redis and that’s why I want to consolidate that. Gotta conserve that precious memory

@lars I spent all day trying to get it to run with a changed upload directory and I couldn't fix it 😵‍💫 In the end just right now I just reinstalled the whole RaspiPi OS out of frustration and will start the whole process tomorrow again - but with my updated knowledge of the use of Portainer lol

@lars exactly, it's a never ending story 😅 I started with docker and switched to Portainer without reinstalling, that's been my mistake today that I didn't get for hours 🥲 But maybe tomorrow everything will be going smooth haha and even the backup set up will work out

@onni But it’s so cool to get one’s hands dirty with these things. Yesterday I learned how vaapi works and how to make /dev/dri appear on a headless Debian! And lots of learning about Let’s Encrypt too
